Meet The Band
Dear One originally started out as a collaboration of blues artist Josh Petersen and folk artist Cally Delorme. Both artists have a deep-rooted appreciation for blues & folk genres, and a love for creating beautiful music. Josh and Cally met in college, and have been playing music and living life together ever since. Something wonderful sparked when these two musicians hit the stage together, and the rest was history.
Well... fast forward a wedding and a few years later, and Dear One grew into a five piece band, featuring Josh as the main vocalist/guitarist, complete with Tim's banjo and electric guitar to counteract Cally's fiddle, three-part harmonies with bassist Ryan Harvey, and Ian's exceptionally tasteful beats to complete the sound. From now on, Dear One is a collaboration of artists Josh Petersen, Cally Petersen, Tim Stinson, Ryan Harvey, and Ian Walser. It's official -- we're a family!
THE RING LEADER
Josh has always been a part of music somehow. Growing up with two very musical sisters there was never a time when the three of them weren’t singing. It was until Josh learned to play the guitar when he really started to find this own sound. Over the last dozen years, Josh has delved into many different genres including punk, folk, blues, jazz, country, bluegrass, R&B, roots-rock, reggae, and funk.
Fun facts about Josh:
Josh is an avid stand-up paddleboarder and loves finding new waters to explore. He also has a huge love for the ocean. Josh loves mixing cocktails and trying new craft beers. Josh is quite the Star Wars fan with an X-wing tattooed on his right arm and a Tie fighter on his left. He also has three more tattoos and plans on getting more. It’s a rare occurrence to see Josh without some sort of hat on his head and he occasionally rocks a moustache from time to time. Josh always has his hands in something musical. When he is not playing music, he is working behind the scenes, whether it's managing artists, events, or DJing at an event. Josh also scored big and is married to the very lovely fiddle player below. ;)
THE GALWAY GIRL
Cally has played the fiddle since she learned how to run. She grew up in a musical family that loved to jam, and that’s where her love for singing & songwriting formed. She is a lifelong violinist, and over the years has dabbled in the basics of guitar, vocals, drums, piano, and ukulele. When she isn't playing music, you can find her bundled up under a heap of blankets editing away; she never has a shortage of work in the photography department. Cally thrives in most creative settings and is a natural marvel to watch whether she has a violin or a camera in hand.
Fun facts about Cally:
Loves photographs, long naps, and playing piano in the dark. She will never turn down a walk in the country, a good meal, or a chance to soak up every single ray of sunshine on a clear day. Although she is a wonderful host, deep down she is an unmistakable introvert and loves spending time alone. She is married to the love of her life! No kiddos yet, but it’s her lifelong dream to be a mama. Although she is a bit of a fashionista and has a closet full of thrifted treasures, her preferred outfit will forever be pajamas. There's nothing Cally loves more than being cozy & clean.
Tim grew up in rural Abbotsford and has spent over 10 years playing in various bands and projects devoted largely to folk, indie and blues music. He has spent a good portion of those years playing alongside Josh and Cally. While he mainly focuses his time on guitar and singing, he has been known to incorporate banjo and mandolin into small portions of their
music together. His favourite bands include City and Colour, Ben Howard, Noah Gundersen, and The Paper Kites.
Fun facts about Tim:
He absolutely loves being outdoors and enjoys spending rainy days inside with a good cup of coffee
and his guitar. Tim also loves to design and create and has an unhealthy addiction to guitar pedals. He
and his wife currently reside in Abbotsford in a converted barn surrounded by sheep and trees.
Though he only picked up a bass at 22, Ryan has had a lifelong love for music. From Trombone to Choir to church worship teams, music was always a huge part of his life, though it took a back seat to athletics until College. Once he had a guitar in his hands, Ryan realized what he had been missing for years. Then he picked up a bass, and his life was forever changed.
Fun facts about Ryan:
He loves The Chargers, Batman, and pizza (probably more that he should). He is fluent in American Sign Language, and no he can't read braille. He's been married to his wonderful wife exactly 27 days longer than Josh and Cally, which means they are the cuter couple. He is way too obsessed with gear, whether for his bass or otherwise. All his power comes from his beard, and the reason it is so big is that it's full of secrets.
THE BEAT MAN
Drumming has almost always been apart of Ian’s life, whether in the form of competing and travelling the world in Scottish pipe bands, performing in jazz and indie rock bands, drumming for worship bands in numerous churches across the Lower Mainland or even drumming as an extra in Disney’s 2010 movie, ‘16 Wishes’.
Fun facts about Ian:
More than anything, he enjoys exploring British Columbia’s beautiful wilderness and capturing it through film photography. Ian loves making people burst into laughter, but still values quiet time alone to journal in one of his many moleskins. He is a Type 2 Enneagram personality and once ate a full orange, peel and all. Ian enjoys long walks on the beach at sunset, and he knows how to have a good time (in other words, ladies, he's available!)

Josh & Cally Petersen
Once in a while, shows will feature the music of husband and wife duo Josh & Cally Petersen, leaders of the Americana Folk-Pop Band, Dear One. These two have been playing music together for most of their relationship, and Dear One originally stemmed from this dynamic duo. Josh & Cally both have such a deep love for music and each other — so much so that their chemistry both on and off stage is like fireworks!
In the midst of writing their own songs, they enjoy covering their favorite love-songs together and sharing their music with others. You can expect lots of upbeat fiddle tunes, as well as classic covers, and an all-around soulful experience that will make your heart thump.
